Ich bin der Schrecken....

... der die Nacht durchflattert :-D

Ja, das habe ich die letzten Tage öfter Gedacht. Musste nämlich im Rahmen meiner Ausbildung zum Berufspiloten einige Nachtflugstunden absolvieren, die letzten 2 Flüge davon Solo. Und es war ECHT der Hammer. Macht wirklich Spass durch die Nacht zu tuckern, und tausend Lichtlein von oben zu bewundern. Und das Headset mit Bluetooth Schnittstelle schmälert den Spass natürlich auch nicht wirklich ;-)

Ansonsten ist in der Nacht fliegen ja eigentlich sehr "langweilig.. Halt typisches IFR - I follow road :-D Immer brav der Autobahn entlang und in der Luft so gut wie nix los. Die Route war auch immer die Gleiche, also keine großen Überaschungen dabei.

Am Ende der Strecke war Albany. Ein kleiner verschlafener Flughafen, der aber eine echt super Besonderheit hat. Südlich vom Runway, führt nämlich ein Taxiway zu einem eher abgelegenen Parkplatz, wo gleich nebenan zwei Restaurants sind. So richtig, mit dem Heli zum essen fliegen :-D Und das mitten in der Nacht G Seeeeehr cool G

So sammle ich also zur Zeit Stunden, und arbeite zum Berufspiloten. Noch viel zu lernen ich hab ;-)

Wieder in der Luft...

... und dann mit so einem Flug belohnt werden.

Die letzten zwei Tage waren wohl für alle hier sehr intensiv. Die Untersuchung hat schon die "Ursache" des Absturzes festgestellt (low rotor rpm) aber wie es dazu kam, das wird wohl kaum, oder erst nach sehr langer Arbeit herausgefunden werden. Das ist auch die Frage die sich momentan niemand wirklich erklären kann. Irgendwie sind aber alle enger zusammengeschweist als jemals zuvor. Es sind nur Kleinigkeiten, aber jeder ist viel mehr darauf bedacht das alle gut zurück kommen.

Auf jeden Fall bin ich heute mit Mary zu einem Abendflug aufgebrochen. Die Funkerei mit Portland (wo wir drüber geflogen sind) war kein Problem, und alles verlief Reibungslos. Der Sonneuntergang, und die Stimmung die rundum uns herschte war Wahnsinn. Wir konnten beide nur noch "wow" sagen ;-) Die beiden Bilder sind davon leider nur ein billiger Abklatsch. Das "Welcome back" nach der Rückmeldung als wir gelandet sind war auch etwas "gewichtiger" als sonst, zumindest für mich.

Es geht also weiter, und morgen werde ich meinen ersten Passagier mitnehmen. Darauf freu ich mich jetzt schon.
Ein Bild vom Fisch frisch gefangen, und fertig filetiert hab ich auch noch ;-)

Sprachlos...

...

Heute um 13.09 ist einer unserer Hubschrauber, 956SH (ich hab meinen Privat Piloten in diesem Hubschrauber gemacht, beziehungsweise die Prüfung dazu), im westlichen Übungsgebiet abgestürzt. Sowohl Fluglehrer als Flugschüler sind dabei umgekommen.

Obwohl ich die beiden nur vom sehen gekannt habe, bin ich mit meinen Gedanken bei Ihnen, und vor allem ihren Angehörigen. Jetzt ist es also Realität, nicht irgendwo weit weg, nein.. direkt hier, in unserer Flugschule und es hätte jeden von uns treffen können.

What goes around...

... comes around.

Ja, viel ist passiert die letzte Woche.

Fangen wir mit dem Fliegen an. Am Sonntag hatte ich ja meinen ertsten Stage Check von der Schule um mal zu sehen wie weit ich bin. Naja, also als glorreiche Heldentat würde ich den Flug jetzt nicht archivieren. Und auch mein Theoretische Wissen war nicht so überzeugend wie auch schon. Naja, auf jeden fall hab ich am Montag noch einmal einen Manöver flug anhängen müssen, um dann ein pass zu kriegen. Ja alles in allem nicht total schlecht, aber noch seehr viel platz für Verbesserungen.

Ja, und dann war da noch Fred. Der hatte beim letzten durchlauf der Einstellungen von Hillsboro Aviation kein Glück, und zog nach einem Roadtrip durch das westliche USA die Konsequenzen. Er ist dann ziemlich überraschend ausgezogen, und wird in einem Monat sein Glück in Northern California versuchen. Ihm wünsch ich dabei viel Glück und alles gute. Für mich hieß es dann Abschied nehmen, und alle Formalitäten auf mich umschreiben lassen, und natürlich meinen neuen Roommate den Michl ein bischen einzuführen *G*.

Ja, und dann war das Wetter letzte Woche ziemlich bescheiden, und geflogen bin ich auch nur ganz wenig. Dafür hab ich mit dem Dominik einige Angelausflüge gemacht, und siehe da... am 18ten war uns Petri heil. Ich hab zwar nicht geangelt, ich war dafür der spotter, und hab ganz brav die fische entdeckt :-D ... ja und ein ziemlich kapitaler Lachs hat dann angebissen, und nach einem ordentlichen Fight der zeigte wie schlau die Burschen sind (der Lachs schwamm sogar um einen im Wasser stehenden Baumstamm rundum um die Leine loszuwerden) haben ihn Dominik dann mit dem Schwanzwurzelgriff an Land befördert... Sehr stolz waren wir da. :-D Als Dominik ihn dann zuhause filetiert hatte, durfte ich übernehmen, und kochte uns dann einen feinen Fisch am Abend. SEEEHR lecker. Natürlich wurde auch gleich ein bischen eingefroren, und eingebeizt. Sehr lecker so frischer lachs... kann man auch einfach roh essen... mjam

Ja, und dann war da noch gestern das Oregon Oktoberfest in Mount Angel, das wir uns natürlich nicht entgehen liesen... aber grad verging mir die Lust am schreiben --> siehe nächster Blog eintrag.

Intermezzo

Um nicht ganz zu versumpfen, mal ein kurzes Update.

Mir gehts soweit ganz gut, das fliegen geht mehr oder weniger seinen Gang, wenn das Wetter und die Mechaniker mitspielen. Mein erster "Prüfungsflug" hat sich jetzt auf Sonntag verschoben, na mal sehen wie ich da abschneide.

Bei uns in der Wohnung stehen grad alle Zeichen auf Veränderung, aber wies da weitergeht, weis ich jetzt noch nicht, dazu dann später mehr.

Ich hab mir zur körperlichen Betätigung ne "do it yourself" slackline zusammengekrammt, und bin die letzten Tage fleissig zwischen den Bäumen am hin und her gehen. Und wers glaubt oder nicht, ich werde tatsächlich besser. Dreimal (*edit* viermal */edit*) hin und her ist der Rekord G Mein Rücken "dankt" mir dafür jeden Tag mit Vorstellungsgesprächen von immer neuen Muskeln die ich noch nicht kannte ;-)

So ein zwei fotos hab ich auch noch für euch. Saddle, Astoria, Scappose und Airshow ;-)
